The Practice
Team
The Practice Manager
Tom Johnson is available most days and will see any patient who asks to see him during the day. If he is not available leave a message with reception and he will contact you.
Reception Staff
We are fortunate to have a well established and experienced team on reception who have been well trained to complete a variety of tasks to support patient care in the practice.
Practice Nurses
Fiona McCabe Hughes, Theresa Onwubzobe and Marcia Grant are available
by appointment for minor illnesses, minor injuries, immunisations, travel advice,
dressings, removal of stitches, family planning and cervical smears. The nurses
are trained in chronic disease management including diabetic and asthma checks.
District Nurses
The district nursing team is based at Kenmore Clinic. They provide nursing care for housebound patients in their own home.
Health Visitors
The health visiting team is based at Kenmore Clinic. They provide a children’s clinic in the Kenton Baptist Church Hall every Thursday morning and offer advice on child development, immunisation, parenting and health issues for under-fives.
Midwife
We offer a shared care service with the community midwife who is based at the Kenmore Children's Centre. Ante-natal checks will be alternated between the practice and the Children's Centre. To book ante-natal appointments at the Children's Centre please ring 020 8416 8389.
Training
The practice is approved for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
Medical Students
Students from London Medical Schools are attached to the surgery to learn about general practice. We appreciate the help given to us by patients who volunteer to attend teaching sessions that enable medical students to learn about different medical conditions.
GP Registrars
These fully qualified doctors from the Northwick Park Training Scheme are attached to the surgery to gain post-graduate experience in general practice. A registrar will have a number of years' experience in a hospital environment typically covering Accident and Emergency, Maternity, Geriatric, Paediatric, General Surgery and other specialities.
It is normal for us to have two registrars within the practice at any one time. Each has a GP trainer that they work with (either Dr Mistry or Dr Rajani).
The registrar will:
• Consult jointly with the GP trainer
• Under guidance of the GP Trainer, provide routine surgeries.
(Consultations are reviewed by the GP trainer with the registrar.)
• Complete home visits and undertake all normal duties of a GP.
Video Consultations
During their time with the surgery registrars may video the consultation for training purposes only. The video is of the discussion with the patient only; no medical examination is recorded. You will always be asked for your consent, both before and after the consultation, if you agree to be videoed. The video is treated in the strictest confidence and is purely for the registrars' development and training.
Dietician
We have a dietician attending the surgery on Mondays approximately every three weeks. Patients are seen by appointment only, after referral by a clinician.
